About Us
Step Up Louisiana is a grassroots membership-driven organization that builds power to win education and economic justice for all.
Our intergenerational and multiracial membership is made up of Louisianans from various backgrounds who “Step Up” by campaigning, organizing from a racial justice perspective and holding public officials accountable.
We organize with parents, workers, students, and community members to disrupt systemic oppression in our schools and workplaces through voter education, advocacy, and action.
Our Vision
Step Up Louisiana members organize together in order to realize a future in which all people have the resources to take care of themselves and their families and have the right to live in a healthy, thriving community.
We believe that good schools, good jobs, and a healthy environment are the foundation of this future.
We know that this future will only be won through the collective action of working-class people.
We seek to engage, educate, and empower our neighbors in order to build the power needed to make our institutions and leaders accountable to the people.

Organizing For Racial Justice
Our multiracial and multigenerational membership engages in campaigns that directly affect our lives. Organizing for economic and education justice in the South is fundamentally a fight against structural racism. This power analysis is essential to our work.
